FST is about finding the story in the person, the family, the event, or the company. The company shines a light on the people in life who make a difference, and find the connection that deserves to be shared with others. Having said that…
Who needs Family Storyteller?
People who:
1. Have a story to tell. Whether they think so or not, some people are interesting, compelling and inspiring. If you know of someone who has created a company, a family, a love story or a legacy, FST can highlight events in that person’s timeline in a personal, interesting, and compelling way. Do you know of a heroic or tragic event that needs to be heard? The event will be perfectly capture in the tone needed.
2. Have only a limited amount of time together. It’s a hard part of life, but when loved ones know that time is limited, it becomes important to share and honor memories together. Kimberly (FST creative director) seamlessly moves from event to event with compassion, warmth, and humor to capture the good stuff you are afraid will fade away. Are you at a place where you will be going through a huge life-closing event? Maybe you are losing your loved one due to disease or old age. As a loved one, you want to record the moments you have left in a dignified and intimate way. Or, do you want to possibly record conversations throughout the event of a funeral/wake? FST is able to stay in the background while spotlighting the love and closeness that comes when memories are shared.
3. Want an event to last a lifetime. Are you, or someone you know, starting down a life-changing event? A wedding story, or the journey of an expectant mother… these events are unique chances to record thoughts, feelings and stories that happen at these important times. A significant birthday or a conversion story… these celebrations deserve to be highlighted, and Kimberly is an expert at hunting down the good stuff.
If any of these situations are true for you, or if you know of someone whom it would fit for, then take that minute to contact Family Storyteller (www.familystoryteller.com). It could make all the difference to you, your family, your friends and your co-workers.
Why not just whip out your phone and do it yourself? Let’s just get that question out the way. To start, if you are part of the event, then BE IN the event. If there are tears or laughter or stories, do you really want to be worrying about whether you should zoom in, or if the microphone picked up what was said? NO! This event, this time is a gift. Don’t waste it in the mechanics. There is too much regret later on. Next, have you ever been looking at a home video of something you really wanted to see, only to turn it off because it was just too wobbly, or fuzzy, or unfocused in some way? Of course you have! We all have. Don’t take the gamble on something worth capturing. Kimberly and her team are experts. Let them create this event with clarity and sharpness so you can enjoy it over and over again. Lastly, if this is important to you, it’s important to FST. Not only are there interviews where great questions bring out memorable responses, but FST uses great writing and a narration to creatively weave together a memorable story. It is purposeful. It brings inspiration and does the event justice, far beyond putting a microphone up to somebody’s face. FST finds the emotion and importance in every word. Every scene. Every piece.
